The gaming industry is constantly evolving, and laptop manufacturers are no exception. With new models and technologies emerging regularly, it's natural to wonder whether buying a gaming laptop now or waiting for the latest models is the best decision. In this article, we'll delve into the latest developments in the world of gaming laptops and provide you with the information you need to make an informed decision.

The Current State of Gaming Laptops

Gaming laptops have come a long way in recent years, with significant improvements in performance, battery life, and design. However, with the release of new models and technologies, it's essential to consider whether buying a gaming laptop now or waiting for the latest models is the best option.

What's Coming in 2026?

Rumors have been circulating about the release of new NVIDIA graphics cards, including the RTX 50 Super and RTX 60 series. These cards promise to deliver even better performance and power efficiency than their predecessors. However, it's worth noting that the release of these cards may be delayed due to production issues and component shortages.

The Impact of Component Shortages

Component shortages have become a significant issue in the gaming industry, with many manufacturers struggling to keep up with demand. This has led to delays in the release of new products and has caused prices to rise. For example, the RTX 50 Super has been delayed until Q3 2026 due to a shortage of 3GB GDDR7 memory. This delay has caused some to question whether it's worth waiting for the latest models or buying a gaming laptop now.

The Rise of RAM Prices

RAM prices have also seen a significant increase in recent months, with some manufacturers reporting price hikes of up to 200%. This has caused concern among gamers and manufacturers alike, as it may impact the performance and value of gaming laptops. According to some reports, RAM prices may remain high until 2027, making it essential to consider this factor when deciding whether to buy a gaming laptop now or wait for the latest models.

Should You Buy Now or Wait?

So, should you buy a gaming laptop now or wait for the latest models? The answer to this question depends on your individual needs and priorities. If you're in the market for a gaming laptop now, there are still many great options available. However, if you're willing to wait, you may be able to take advantage of the latest technologies and features.

Black Friday and the 2026 Laptops

Black Friday is just around the corner, and it's an excellent time to save money on gaming laptops. Many manufacturers will be offering discounts and promotions on their latest models, making it an excellent opportunity to upgrade your gaming setup. However, it's essential to keep in mind that many of these models may be older or discontinued, so it's crucial to research and compare prices before making a purchase.

How to Find Your Perfect Gaming Laptop

Finding the perfect gaming laptop can be a daunting task, especially with so many options available. However, there are a few things you can do to make the process easier. First, consider your budget and the features you need. Next, research and compare prices to find the best value for your money. Finally, read reviews and watch videos to get a better understanding of each model's performance and features.

The Best Gaming Laptops in 2025

If you're in the market for a gaming laptop now, there are still many great options available. Here are a few of the best gaming laptops in 2025:

Dell XPS 15: A powerful and feature-rich device designed for professionals.

HP Envy x360: A versatile and affordable option for students and commuters.

I overall agree with your judgement and think it is a reasonable view, but damn... do I want people to boycott the nvidia until they give us 16gb cards which people actually can afford.

I thought the laptop GPUs by Nvidia were never going to get a Super refresh anyway, only the desktop ones. Wasn't that always the case? Also a friendly request, can people who are into laptops stop calling Nvidia Ngreedia or similar names, when AMD and Intel has no similar products for Nvidia to compete with? It's so frelling stupid to only blame Nvidia for whatever issue you think you have with it, when AMD and Intel do nothing.

Love it, companies release mediocre laptops to then 'fix' the issues they made later on. Shitification at its finest. Hate this day and age.

i don't think any laptops in 2025 are as good as last gen when it comes to the panel on the laptop - the 1000nits 300MHz Razer 18 in 2024 was better than anything for the 5090 series. But I won't go back there due to drivers/synapse.

Jarrod, should I buy MSI Catana (2025) (i7-14650hx & rtx 5070) for 1.100 USD or MSI vector (AMD 9840HX and 5070Ti) for 1.400$ ? I need an advice from an expert

I got my Lenovo Legion 5 AMD Ryzen 7 260 GeForce RTX 5060 on Black Friday week sale. I am impressed at how cheap it is and the performance is impressive. I picked up another one for my wife.

Tbh if you want a machine with lots of vram and all that power, just go for a pc. They're both extremely expensive. And I am very sure that none of you guys would even dare to take the laptop out, because the risk of getting this tiny gold stolen is quite high. Spend your money on a good laptop, but not an excessively money haunting laptop.

Your vids are super valulable. Great insights and I saved a lot of money and time. Gonna go for a cheap 5070 TI on Black Friday or some cheaper 4090, did not yet dedided (as these are still out there packed in some shops). Great video.

I'm so torn right now. I'm close to pulling trigger on a Legion Pro 7i, the 5070ti model, for a little under k. Don't know if there will be a better deal for black Friday or not though. I'm pretty set on this specific model & specs; Pro 7i, the 240hz OLED, i9 275HX, 32gb ram, 1tb gen4 SSD. That's a pretty good deal at under k already, and don't want to risk missing out on that model. I'd much rather prefer a 9955HX3D & a gen5 pcie SSD lane, but it just doesn't really exist. Also don't want to get the model I'm looking at, then see a sale for a similar 5080 model for like a very close price or something. Man, it sucks being patient when you actually have the ability & means to get the thing you're looking at. Being an adult sucks sometimes lol. What would you guys do?

I purchased an Asus G14 5060 for 30 open box at Best Buy. It's a great laptop but I'm considering returning it for an Acer Helios 16 with a 5070 ti. Any thoughts?
